Other front matter pages include prefaces, acknowledgements, dedication, introductions, endorsements, epigraphs, and maps. Capture each of these within a miscMatter element using the appropriate class attribute value. In each case the structure is similar.
Other end matter pages include acknowledgements, chronologies, credits, contributors, end notes, exercises, glossaries, law tables, questions and answers, resources, and suggested readings.
Capture the title of a front matter part in a titleGroup element within miscMatter.
Capture information found at the front of a book that does not fall within the parameters of other defined content in the miscMatterGroup using a miscMatter with attribute class="meta". This also includes some information that does not appear in specific parts of the content.
The half title page is normally the first page of the book and contains only the title. The title page usually contains the title, author/editor names, year of publication and the OUP logo.
If the book has a frontispiece (an illustration facing the title page), capture it as a miscmatter with a class attribute value frontispiece.
Amendments and updates are an online-only frontMatter section that holds the list of changes made when updating content for revisions.
The copyright page normally appears on the reverse of the title page and is referred to as the title verso. Capture this page using miscMatter with an attribute class="titleverso".
With the exception of some legal documents, you should capture the table of contents. Capture the table of contents inside one miscMatter element with attribute class="contents" within frontMatter.
Capture lists consisting solely of figures in miscMatter class="illustration".
Capture contributors in list class="contributors". Capture each contributor together with their affiliation (if present) and the chapter they authored in an item1 element.
Capture the Preface section in the miscMatterGroup using a miscMatter with a class="preface".
Capture glossaries in miscMatter class="glossary", list class="glossary" using list1 listType="headed".
Tables of authority include tables of cases, tables of instruments, and tables of legislation (normally in the front matter).
If the book has a disclaimer page, capture it as a miscMatter with a class attribute value disclaimer.
Capture front matter pages that list other titles in the same series, lists the editorial board members of the series, or gives narrative information on what the series is about as a miscMatter element with a class attribute value seriesinfo.
Series Advertisements are a page or two that advertises other books of a particular series, or advertises other related series. Mark series advertisements as print only using the display="print" attribute.
Mark walk through prefaces to the book as print only using attribute display="print". Mark walk through prefaces to the ORC as individual graphics using the application files provided.
Capture the Note to Readers section in the miscMatterGroup using a miscMatter with attribute class="other".
Other lists include lists of tables, lists of tables and figures together, lists of maps, and other lists that you need to create.
Capture bibliographies at the end of frontMatter or endMatter sections in a bibliographyGroup element within the last div1 element of the textMatter.
Capture chronologies in miscMatter class="chronology".
Endpapers are unpaginated pages at the front (before prelim pages) and at the back (after the index) of a book.
