The root element for capturing a case report. The case element contains the headnote (headNote) and decision (judgmentGrp).

When you receive the headnote, it provides all the required metadata. If the metadata within the output XML report file needs amending, for example when a decision is only made available after you capture the headnote, then you must amend the metadata.
Each law report has a case number (or citation) for use as a reference within other documents. The citation is a unique identifier and is captured as the caseid attribute value within the parent case element.
Capture the title of the law report series that is specified at the top of the headnote. Capture the series title in lower case as the value of the series attribute of the case element.
The Type field at the top of the headnote indicates whether the case is an award, decision, or OPIC case.

The Decision section of a law report is often referred to as the Judgment section for ORIL law reports and the Award or Decision section for Investment Claims law reports.
