DOI values for partner presses

Format of the DOI prefix for each publisher.

These instructions extend the general instructions.

For partner presses, the general DOI format is:

10.nnnn/publisherShort/documentID.elementCode.nnnn

Where:

10.nnnn/publisherShort: is the doi prefix for the partner press.
documentID: is the print ISBN of the publication.
elementCode: is the code for the element carrying the doi attribute.
nnnn: is a unique and sequential value, that follows on from the preceding element with the same name. In most instances, this number should match the number at the end of the sibling id attribute.

Special requirement for DOIs of Chicago content
For Chicago content, use the eISBN in place of print ISBN in the DOI value.
Special requirement for DOIs of Illinois content
For Illinois content, use the following DOI prefix for all new content captured from December 2017 TCIs release: 10.5622/illinois.
Special requirement for DOIs of Liverpool content
Where books and chapters have existing DOIs, OUP provide the existing DOIs with the PDF at time of capture. Use these existing DOIs for the relevant book or chapter DOI.
Special requirement for DOIs of New York content
For New York content, use the eISBN in place of print ISBN in the DOI value.
Special requirement for DOIs of North Carolina content
Where books and chapters have existing DOIs, OUP provide the existing DOIs with the PDF at time of capture. Use these existing DOIs for the relevant book or chapter DOI.
