Metadata for works

Capture metadata about a work (i.e. a piece of art, music, or literature) in a metaItem element with about="work".

If available, capture the following information as children of metaItem about='work':

Medium in works metadata
Capture the medium of the work in metaItem with about='medium'.
Instrumentation in works metadata
Instrumentation should captured in music works only. Capture the instrumentation of the work in metaDescribes with predicate='instrumentation'.
Dimensions, height, and width in works metadata
Capture the dimensions (if listed in full) in metaDescribes predicate="dimensions". Capture the height in metaDescribes predicate="height". Capture the width in metaDescribes predicate="width".
Location in works metadata
Capture the location of where the work is currently located in metaDescribes predicate="location".
Owner in works metadata
Capture the current owner of the work in metaDescribes predicate='owner'.
Reproductions in works metadata
If the work is a reproduction, capture information about the reproduction in metaItem about='reproduction'.
Sources in works metadata
Capture the source of the information about the work in metaItem about='source'.
Miscellaneous Comments
Capture any miscellaneous comments to work metadata using metaDescribes with predicate="miscellaneous"
