Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

References in the original citation in OCL Legal Materials

Capture references in the original citation in an appropriate format separated by the pipe character within the original citation idnumber attribute.

/regGroup/regMeta/citeGrp/bibItem[1]/@idnumber

Capture references within the original citation that are referenced in the original document in three places:

  • Within the title of the document, usually following the text No or on a separate line in parentheses/brackets
  • As an Official Journal reference
  • As a Celex No: cited below the official journal reference
  • If they are available, capture all of these in an appropriate format separated by the pipe character within the original citation idnumber attribute.

Sometimes another document may be referred to in the title of a material. In this case, identify the correct citation reference by considering their context and the similarity of elements in the Official Journal or Celex No: references.
