Headnotes
For some publications OUP create a headnote document that corresponds with the source document and provides a summary, metadata, and editorial comments to add to the final XML.
The format of a headnote may differ from product to product. In some products an MS Excel spreadsheet might give headnote metadata for several documents; in others, a single word document gives metadata for each document.
Where a piece of data to be captured is taken from one of these fields, the corresponding label may be indicated in the text as follows:
