Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Complex text layouts

If no XML structure is available, capture complex text layouts such as musical notation, linguistics, etc. using an image.

Typecode for linguistic examples

LDIS

Linguistic display material

Note: use start/end environment tags LDIS-Open and LDIS-Close

Always check with OUP before using an image in preference to capturing the text. Text that should be captured as images should be indicated at handover. Capture all linguistic example identified with the typecode LDIS as images.

Capture these text images as Display graphics. Set the size of images containing text so that characters are of a consistent size between images, with a character height of 18 pixels.

Some products may have further special instructions for the capture of linguistic images, which will be provided at handover.
