BPS: Questions and Answers - ExtRefs
The final paragraph of the answer explanation in BPS content is an external reference to the relevant section of the manual that the Q&A text relates to (either the Police Investigator's Manual, or one of the four Police Manuals). Capture this reference in an extRef element.
The final paragraph may also contain an extRef referencing some other part of the content, e.g. a particular paragraph of a PACE Code of Practice (these Codes are appendices to the Evidence and Procedure and General Police Duties manuals). The target of the extRef may be a divN, item1N, or other element within the manual content. The ref attribute value will be the ID number of the target element within the document. There is an additional docRef attribute, whose value is the full name of the target document (i.e. any file suffix such as “.xml” should be included).
