Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Key Terms

Key Terms are words or phrases that are given a particular color or font to indicate common value and function.

KT1, KT2, KT3, KT4, KT5, etc. Used for key terms. The number represents the particular color or typographic markup of a key term.

Key Terms are marked with a KT# typecode. Capture key terms with a span element. A role attribute on span should take the form 'keyterm#' where the # is the typecode number.

Additionally, if typecodes have not been used (i.e. for backlist capture) if inline text is coloured or emphasized in a way that cannot be captured with OUP typographical tags (e.g. b, i, sc, etc.), then capture it in a span element with attribute role="keyterm1". If additional colours are present use a new number on 'keyterm#' for each new colour identified.
