Half title and title pages

The half title page is normally the first page of the book and contains only the title. The title page usually contains the title, author/editor names, year of publication and the OUP logo.

Capture each of these pages using miscMatter with class attribute value halftitle or titlepage.

Not all OUP books have a half title page. A book must not have more than one title page.

Capture, the title, subtitle, series title, and title variants in a titleGroup. Capture the title in a title element, the subtitle in a subtitle element, the title variant in a titleVariant element, and the series title in a title role="series". If there is a colon separating the title and subtitle, do not capture it.

For A-Z Reference works, for the title page, capture a variant of the book title for alphabetical sorting using the titleVariant element within the titleGroup.

Capture contributor information (names, affiliations, and 'by' lines) in a creatorInfo element.

If the series title and title appear together on a single titlepage, and they each have contributor information, then multiple creatorInfo elements may be used. Use role='series' on the creatorInfoassociated with the series title.

Capture all author, editor, contributor, or translator names using nameGrp and correctly identify the role of the person.

Capture type of publication and colophons as a paragraph p.

The title page normally includes the OUP logo. Capture the OUP logo as a display graphic.
