Capture names or addresses of places using the place element and associated attributes. Capture the place as content of the element and capture specific parts of the place and address in the attributes.

The attributes and allowed content are:
- addressCode
- Post/Zip Code of an address
- country
- Name of a country (e.g. England, France, Spain)
- county
- Name of a county, region, or state (e.g. Yorkshire, East Anglia, Kansas)
- parish
- Name of a parish/borough (e.g. Oxon, Kent)
- institution
- Name of a building or company (e.g. Westminster Abbey, Eiffel Tower, Leeds University)
- subInstitution
- Name of a section of a building or company
- street
- Name of a street
- town
- Name of a town or city
- role
- qualifier on the place
- The only allowed value for role on place is 'foreign'. Use only when typecode PLACE:F is used.
- type
- The place type.
Determine the place type attribute from the information within and around the place details. If you determine the place type, the value should be one of the following;
