Display text markup location
To maintain the structural integrity of the input file, capture indented material within a paragraph in the displayText element with attribute class="prosequote" or attribute class="epigraph". Capture displayText inside its own p element.
Programming code
Capture blocks of programming code within a displayText group in lineGroup elements with attribute class="program".
Poetry
Capture each line of a poem in a line element and group verses in lineGroup elements.
Quotes
Capture indented paragraphs of quoted text in entries as the displayText element, with attribute class="prosequote".
Illustrative Examples
Some entries contain text to illustrate or expand on the definition which is placed on a new line and centred. Capture this text in the displayText element with attribute class="other".
Content alignment
Where alignment communicates information or forms an important part of the work, some poems, songs, and quotes need a more complex XML structure to capture alignment.
Epigraphs
Capture indented epigraphs with displayText element with attribute class="epigraph".

When extracts contain extracts, capture as a displayText within a displayText.
