Cross-references to notes

Capture references to notes using xref and capture the note types in the role attribute of the xrefGrp.

Where the cross-reference is a number in superscript, wrap it in the sup element.

Sub-topics

  1. Capturing range cross-references to notes

    Where the print reference is to a range of notes, for example, a reference to three footnotes is in the form "1 - 3" and not "1, 2, 3.", convert the range to a sequence before capturing as XML.

  2. Capturing cross-references to notes in a different location

    Where the print references notes in other locations in the content (chapter, e, p or miscMatter), do not capture the location of the cross reference as a separate xref.
