Study Cards

Study cards are a set of multiple cards that come with the Oxford Handbooks Clinical Tutors series of books. Each set contains a number of cards with a front and back.

Study cards may come with the Oxford Handbooks Clinical Tutors series of books. They require particular XML capture, as detailed in the following topics. There may be multiple sets of cards for an one title. For example, the resource Practical Procedures contains seven sets of cards (General, Respiratory, Cardiovascular, etc.).

Since the cards are continuous, there is no need to distinguish between front and back in the XML data capture.

There are separate proofs for Divider Cards, which are used to divide each set topic (see an example of a Divider Card on topic Chapters and Divider Cards).

Sub-topics

  1. Table of Contents (Study Cards)

    Capture the table of contents as a table.

  2. Chapters and Divider Cards (Study Cards)

    Capture sets of cards as individual chapter elements where the divider card acts as the chapters title and chapterFrontMatter.

  3. Cards and Card Headings (Study Cards)

    Capture each individual card as a div1 element within the chapter represented by that card's set.

  4. External References (Study Cards)

    Capture cross-references to other study card sets using the extRef element, if and only if all Study Card resources have been captured and all relevant elements have been given IDs.

  5. External References to Oxford Handbooks (Study Cards)

    If a study card has an external reference to the OHCM, OHCS, or OHCEPS capture the external reference as a bibItem.
