COTUS Monographs
Each book of COTUS Monographs contains front matter, two or more parts, and back matter.
The headings for each segment of the book (e.g., sections, parts, articles, etc.) do not
correspond to the XML element with the same name. For example, the title enumerators
Section 2
’ or Chapter 3
do not automatically indicate that you should use the
element of the same name.
Use the presentation of the book, not what it literally says, to guide the structure of the XML as follows:
- In some titles,
Article
headings are chapter elements, because they appear with a large heading and on a new page. - In other titles,
Article
headings are div[1-7,N] elements because they appear in the flow of text and do not start on a new page. - The two parts always use the part element; nothing else should use this element.
