Cross-reference in A-Z reference works

Capture A-Z cross-references with the correct identifying type attribute, target ref attribute, homograph, and asterisk when required.

For cross-references that target senses capture the id of the target div[1-7,N] element in the ref attribute.

You can only link to other entries once from within each entry. Leave all other references to the target entry untagged.

Capture A-Z cross-references with the correct identifying type attribute (type="0", type="1" or type="2").
Split headword cross-references
Lists of cross-references divided using semi-colons cannot also be divided by commas. Within a list of cross-references separated by either content or by semi-colons, capture commas as part of the links.
Cross-references to sense numbers
If cross-reference content refers to a sense number within another entry, the target destination of the cross-reference should still be the id attribute value of the destination entry.
Cross-reference to homographs
Capture cross-references that identify the homographs of the headword and use the hom element to contain the homograph number.
Asterisks in cross-references
Where cross-references contain asterisks * that are not part of the target text, wrap the asterisk in a span element with attribute display="print". Do not capture asterisks or the noMarker role for online-only cross-references.
