Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

OJ References

All European legislation is published in the Official Journal of the European Communities and should have an OJ reference which includes the following components:

  • OJ followed immediately by:
  • Series indicator (L, C, or S) followed immediately by:
  • Volume number
  • Page number
  • Date (either in YYYY or dd.mm.yyyy format)

The Volume and Page number might appear separately (with the page number appearing after p. towards the end of the citation), or as a pair of numbers separated with a / slash.

For example: OJ L 99, 24.11.1971, p. 35 or [2004] OJ L 24/1

Capture OJ references in the @idnumber attribute in the preferred OUP format: [YYYY] OJ L|C|S Vol/Page.
