EU legislation
There are four types of European legislation - Directives, Regulations, Decisions and Other. Other EU legislation includes Opinions, Recommendations and Joint Actions. The sections below describe these sub-types in more detail.
References to EU legislation usually occur in OUP materials relating to one of the member states of the EU, for example in a case report from Denmark. Such references are also common on material destined for web sites specifically about the EU.

References to European legislation usually include the acronyms EU, EC or EEC in the first instance of the full title. References to European legislation may have a short title and a long title. Use the long title if present.
