Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

OBO omit volume attribute in multi-volume citations

When capturing a citation for a multi-volume work, do not use the vol attribute.

Standard and nonstandard citations use the optional vol attribute to capture the single volume number which contains the single work cited by the bibItem. Multi-volume citations contain the plural abbreviation, vols or Vols, within the citation text. In these instances, do not include the vol attribute in the bibItem element.

Example

Semenoz, A.A., et al., eds. Sobranie vostocknykh rukopisei Akademii nauk Uzbekskoi SSR. 11 vols. Tashkent, Uzbekistan: Fan, 1953–1987.
