Country-Specific Information (CDC Yellow Book)

Instructions for capturing the Country-Specific Information section of a CDC Yellow Book

Capture each country at a div4 level:

  • Capture the country name in a titleGroup.
  • capture cross-references to maps in xrefGrp groups

  • to distinguish been similarly named locations (e.g. the British and the US Virgin Islands) include the country to which the territory belongs in the title

  • for lists of what the country/territory includes (e.g. ITALY, INCLUDING HOLY SEE (VATICAN CITY)), use a subtitle element

Capture disease information (e.g. "Yellow Fever" or "Malaria") at a div5 level.

In each div5 capture:

  • A titleGroup in which the name of the disease ("Yellow Fever" or "Malaria") is captured in a title child element.

  • A p element containing:

    • A list element
    • A list1 element within the list element, with attribute listType=”unstructured”, containing item1 elements for each line of information
