Top-level sections of an article include elements for metadata, titles, acknowledgements, appendices, end notes and glossary.

Entries can also contain other sections.

Enumerated titles in articles
Capture article numbering in the enumerator element where headwordGroup is the parent.
Punctuation in article titles
Capture punctuation that forms part of the title inside the headword element. Do not capture punctuation that connects the headword title and subtitle.
Cross-references to notes in articles
If a title has an xref link to a note, capture it as a child of headwordGroup after the respective headword.
Article author names
Capture author names in the section element with role="authors".
Article keywords
Capture keywords in a section element where role="keywords" and display="print".
Article abstracts
Capture abstracts in a section element with attributes role="abstract" and display="print".
Article endnotes
Capture article endnotes in a section element with attribute role="endNotes".
Article appendices
Capture article appendices in a section element with attribute role="appendix".
Article glossaries
Capture article glossaries in the section element with role="glossary".
Article acknowledgements
Capture sections of acknowledgements, credits or contributors in the section element with role="acknowledgements".
