Law Digital Object Identifier (DOI) values

Digital Object Identifiers (DOI) provide a permanent public reference to content. Add a unique doi attribute value to any element where the doi attribute is valid.

The general format for DOIs in IIC awards and decisions is:

10.1093/law-series/nn-YYYY.element.xx

The general format for DOIs in ORIL reports is:

10.1093/law-series/nnjjjjYY.element.xx

Where:

10.1093
is the prefix identifying the publisher
law
is a constant
series
is a code representing the case report series. For IC law reports the value of series is always iic. ORIL includes these case report series codes.

For the doi attribute value, use the codes in lower-case.

nn
is the unique sequential number taken from the caseid
jjjj
is the (lower-case) jurisdiction identifier taken from the caseid
YYYY or YY
is the year information taken from the caseid
element
is the element name containing the doi
xx
is a unique and sequential value, that follows on from the preceding element with the same name
