Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Law bibItems: References in headnotes

OUP law material sometimes includes a headnote written especially for online publication. The references in this headnote can include particular markup to help with their capture.

In a case report headnote, where a reference occurs within running text, OUP use an asterisk to mark the start of the text that you must capture as a bibItem. Do not capture the asterisk * in the XML.

  • Case references should not appear in the Instruments cited field of a case report
  • References in the Subsequent developments field of a case report headnote (consid role="subsequentDevelopment") should all have class="case-ref"

The bibItem representing the Citations field of a case report must not have its party names italicized
