Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

IIC: Investment Claims TCIs

Additional information for capturing documents for the Investment Claims product (IIC). For IIC, case reports, instruments, treaty overviews, monographs and articles are captured to different OUP DTDs.

You can receive IIC Source documents in formats that include HTML, Word and PDF. The layout of the text and formatting used to distinguish headings and sub-sections in these files varies. Do not capture this variation. Apply the same structural markup independent of these visual cues.

The OUP provide metadata for each document in a headnote document in MS Word. The headnote consists of a table with labels and fields. Where you take a piece of capture data from one of these fields, the corresponding label is indicated in these instructions.

Example

Title

In addition to the headnote, capture the title and full text of the document together with any introductory text specific to the document. Also capture all footnotes, appendices, and schedules. Where it is not clear what text to capture, ask your contact at OUP.

Submitted files and XML must comply with file naming conventions.
