Medicine family: Cross-reference targets for partial captures
At the proofing stage if you are capturing chapters or sections individually, cross-reference targets can be external to the XML that you are capturing. In these cases, create cross-references with a self-referencing ref attribute.
Where cross-references that would be internal to the book element are external to the chapter or section root elements, proof that all ref attributes target the id attribute (which may need to be added) on the xref element itself. This will prevent QA error.
At the revision stage, with the entire book available redirect the ref attributes on cross references to the target id of the correct location.
