Capture sections in section elements within the entry e element. Use the role attribute to differentiate the types of content that can be captured.

Capture section headings in a titleGroup title element and structure the section content as normal content inside an initial div1 element.

  1. Senses within entries

    A main section contains all the senses for the entry.

  2. Author name in sections

    The name of an entry's author can appear below the headword or after the senses. Capture each author name in a nameGrp element and capture components of the name in the appropriate attributes.

  3. Bibliography sections within entries

    The bibliography section should contain just a bibliography found within an entry. These are normally positioned at the end of the entire entry.

  4. Further reading sections within entries

    Where a section of content consists of a prose description of incomplete references, pointing to full references found within a separate bibliography section, capture it within a section element with attribute role="reading".

  5. Web link sections within entries

    The webLinks section within an entry is usually indicated within the content; however additional information/content may be supplied by OUP. Capture the Web Links sections using the section element with attribute role="webLinks".

  6. Music work sections within entries

    Capture music works sections within entries using the div1 element with attribute role="musicWork". Capture each music work within its own p tag.

  7. Form group sections within entries

    Capture form group sections within entries using the section element with attribute role="formGroup".

  8. Archives sections within entries

    Capture archive sections within entries using the section element with attribute role="archive".

  9. Source sections within entries

    Capture source sections within entries using the section element.

  10. Compound sections within entries

    Capture compound sections within entries using the section element with attribute role="compound".

  11. Phrase sections within entries

    Capture phrase sections within entries using the section element with attribute role="phrase".

  12. Derivative sections within entries

    Capture derivative sections within entries in the section element with attribute role="derivative".

  13. Grouped cross-references within entries

    For cross-reference grouped together within seperate sections create a new section.

  14. Other sections within entries

    Capture sections within entries that you cannot classify according to these TCIs in the section element with attribute role="other".

  15. Abbreviations sections within entries

    Capture abbreviations sections within entries in the section element with attribute role="abbrev".

  16. Index sections within entries

    Capture index sections within entries in the section element with attribute role="index".

  17. Likenesses sections within entries

    Capture lists of known likenesses of a subject within section with role="likenesses". Capture each likeness within a bibItem child of bibList.

  18. Wealth at death sections within entries

    In biographical entries, capture information on the subject's wealth at death within section with role="wealthAtDeath".

  19. Auction records sections within entries

    In biographical entries, capture information on the subject's auction records within section with role="auctionRecords".

  20. Exhibitions sections within entries

    In biographical entries, capture information on the subject's exhibitions within section with role="exhibitions".

  21. Museums and gallery holdings sections within entries

    In biographical entries, capture information on the subject's museum and gallery holdings within section with role="museumAndGalleryHoldings".
