Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Senses within entries

A main section contains all the senses for the entry.

e/section[@role="main"]

The main section contains all the senses for the entry, or the main body text. Where the content is divided into sections and subsections indicated numerically or with headings, capture each sense in a div1 element at the appropriate level and capture sense numbers in an enumerator element. Capture headings in a titleGroup element.

Where introductory text precedes the first section number or heading, unless it falls into another defined structure, capture it in p tags before the first div1 .

Where sense content is emphasised, boxed, or tinted but does not appear separately and so is not boxed matter, capture it in an appropriate p or div[1-7,N] element with attribute role="emphasis".
