Proofing stage root elements
For larger texts such as Textbooks (i.e. the Oxford Textbook of Medicine (OTM) and European Society of Cardiology medical textbook (ESC)), OUP may grant permission for you to return XML files where the root element is chapter, part, or section at the proofs stage.
For data where this is the case, the root element must still have appropriate id
and doi attributes, and include a metaInfo element
containing metadata.
Please note that data should only be captured this way as part of the proofing process: by revises, the data should consist of a single XML file with a book root element, which can be constructed when all chapters, parts, or sections are approved. Please confirm with your OUP contact to ensure that this method of capture is appropriate.
