Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Commentary-only editions

Commentary-only editions are defined as books of only commentary and notes where we are unable to supply a companion book containing the original work upon which the notes are based.

//mainText/commentary

Where indicated by the mainfest document that the book is commentary-only, capture the main part of the book in commentary element within the mainText element.

Each commentary element must have a doi attribute

Within commentary element, capture the content and notes in an XML structure (div[1-7,N] and titleGroup elements with enumerator and title elements) to match the hierarchy of the work upon which the commentary is based. The structural section of the manifest skeleton will contain this information.

Capture each div[1-7,N] chunk, as defined in the structural section of the manifest with a role="commentary".

Capture notes without an available target in a milestone element with id, unit="unlinkedLine" and num attribute corresponding to the line number (or relevant alternate numbering system) that is the target of the note.

Capture notes that indicate multiple targets locations with a milestone element with unit="unlinkedLine" for each target.
