Tables of authority
Tables of authority include tables of cases, tables of instruments, and tables of legislation (normally in the front matter).
The following typecodes are used in tables of authority.
|
FMCT:LTBL |
Law table - table of cases or table of authority |
miscMatter[@class='lawTable']//list[@role='lawTable']
These tables are lists with references to section numbers in which the items are mentioned or quoted. They are sometimes compiled after the first proofs stage.
Capture each table as a list role="lawTable" element, in a miscMatter class="lawTable" element in the front or end matter as appropriate.
If there is more than one table within the section, use the div[1-7,N] hierarchy to capture the individual tables.
Capture the list items as bibItem elements and capture the reference as an xref to the appropriate part, chapter, appendix, or div[1-7,N] element. Capture cross-references to pages within the text using pageNum and xref within xrefGrp. In the ref attribute of the xref element, capture the id of the div[1-7,N] element containing the page processing instruction.
Capture each bibItem as a separate item. If a title has more than one list item on a line, split the bibItem elements and capture each one as a separate item; repeat each cross reference for each separate item.
Some references are underlined, indicating that the item is quoted in the text at that section. Capture this information by adding an attribute role="quoted" to the xrefGrp element, and not using the us element. If necessary split into multiple xrefGrp elements.
Where references include a URL, capture the URL as the value of the url attribute of the bibItem. Do not capture the URL in the text. If there is more than one URL, capture them all in the same url attribute, separated by vertical bars |.
If the same bibItem occurs in multiple tables of authority, use sameTarget capture to link to the previous occurrence.
Do not capture the row of dots filling space between a left-aligned heading and a right-aligned set of section references.
Do not capture multi-column layouts.
