Oxford University Press Text Capture Instructions

Emphasised or tinted text

Capture tinted backgrounds for sections of text, highlighted words, or individual words or phrases at the start of sections of text by adding the attribute role="emphasis" to their container.

ET

Emphasized text - can be applied inline (for individual words or phrases) and to block level (for paragraphs).
@role="emphasis"

These should not be confused with boxed matter. As a general rule, boxes are labelled as such. If in doubt contact OUP.

Individual words or phrases that need emphasis should be captured in a span role="emphasis".

Inline emphasis

Do not confuse these with Shoulder Headings. Emphasized text will be a part of a sentence where Shoulder Headings are clearly a separate term from the sentence. Where appropriate, include typographics inside the span role='emphasis'.
