The case date element, containing the date on which a judgment was delivered.

This date is distinct from the other two dates associated with a case report—origDate and verDate on <case> —since it relates to the judicial process (i.e. the judgment) rather than the assembly of and changes to the published report;
The contents of this element must conform to the ISO 8601 standard, YYYY-MM-DD
(e.g. 2005-04-09 for April 9th, 2005).
